Wilson's War Message

I feel that this is rite because Germany didn't think ok anyone but themselves. They were killing innocent people. They were not thinking and Wilson had to put a stop to it. Germany thought that Wilson was not going to do anything but he was wrong. Wilson jumped right on top of it. Wilson wanted the war for the people who were dying.
In the first paragraph Woodrow Wilson is sayong that he does not want to make important decisions on his own. Today president Obama cannot sign any important documents or make any important decisions on his own. He needs people in the senatand the Congress to pass the bills, agree on what is being asked for and then the bills is sent to the president for final approval ad his signature.
I think that what was being done in Germany is almost the same as what is being done to people in Iraq and Afghanistan and it is up to the president to put a stop to it.

In Woodrow Wilson's speech he said that there was a need for a league of nations that would help the world. The only way he would of have been doing that was by going into the war and hope to win. I really think it was in the US's interset to set a leauge of nations, to spread out democracy.

The Germans became more aggresive, disregaurding the laws of humanity by sinking ships, England, Ireland, and The Mediterrean West coast of Europe. I don't agree with this because the Germans sank the Lusitania with innocent people on board.

When Woodrow Wilson said he doesnt want 2 make decisions on his own he cant because he needs help from the senate and congress. It is like america's current situation. Because Obama cant make new laws without the permission of the congress. I think when the germans killed innocent americans i think it was also like when the terrorists blew up the twin towners and killed innocent americans

Widrow Wilsons speech is defiantly describing US's situation. The war first started between two countries at first. US was nuetral until the sinkin of the Lusitania when they killed innocent americans. Widrow wishes he can handle the situation all by himself but that is not possible because he has to go by congress. Now US is in the war and have to deal with it and fight the others.Widrow Wilson's speach was about how the germans attacked the innocent and the US has no choice but to fight them now.

Woodrow Wilson is basically sating that he did not want to be in war but because the Germans sunk the vessels of the other countries and killed a lot of innocent people now the U.S has to step in. Wilson has to defend the other countries because he cant just let Germany have the power. So Wilson had to step in. But Wilson can not do it by himself and he asks the Senate and Congress and Governor to help out even if he did not want this war to happen. I do agree with it because he is helping other people out.

A steadfast concert for peace can never be maintained except by a partnership of democratic nations.
One of the most important reasons for Wilson's War Message was to ensure that the US would make the world safe for democracy. This was important to America because Wilson did not believe that an undemocratic nation could survive, for they would not be based on an honors system. He used the possibility of corruption to enforce this and as an example, demonstrated Russia as a country falling apart because of its loss of democracy. This is seen currently because one of the supposed main reasons the United States entered Iraq was to ensure democracy within the country by removing the previous government. The war message is parallel to America's current position in the Iraq war.

I believe that Wilson's speech fits America's current situation. I feel that it is time that we go to war. Not only have American lives been taken but also countless others from different countries. The brutal Germans attack any ship, civilian or military, without regret. They want to take on anyone whether fighting against them or not. I believe that enough lives have been lost and they should be stopped immediately. Woodrow Wilson has finally made the right decision to declare war on Germany.

The Wilson's War message definitely fits America's current situation. With his message, Wilson is truing to convince the congress that by going to war is the best thing to do, to stop Germany from what they doing. He explains how German Government is killing innocent men, women, and children.
The present German submarine warfare against commerce is a warfare against mankind. The submarines were basically taking down every ship that was going to England or Ireland.

Wilson's War message was totally appropriate for America's current situtation. The Germans crossed the line more than once. Wilson didn't react violently right away because he wanted to assure another term of presidency. Once the elections were over and he had one he eventually declared war over Germany. It was a simple decision because of all the votes the bill received to go to war. Germany was wrong for attacking a harmless ship and killing hundreads of innocent people. Wilson finally reacted appropriatley on it.

In Woodrow Wilson's speech he talks about situations that America today still has to deal with, like knowing how to act on and make rightful decisions. It was right of him to retaliate back because Germany was getting out of control and taking innocent people's life. In my opinion he did the right thing and took on a mans battle and went out to try and have a positive outcome.

Wilsons war message was appropaite during this time due to several reasons. One being that Germany had crossed the line numerous times. Especially when they sunk U.S ships and killed numerous innocent people's lives. Wilson acted accordingly and on time to go to war. His war message was not an act of violence but an act of charge he took for our country!

Woodrow Wilson's speech, on why America should join the war was appropriate for America's current situation. After Germany kept attacking innocent lives in cargo ships, it was clear that they had eventually crossed the line after promising not to harm America anymore. The only reason Wilson did not act beforehand with the German attacks was because of his campaign, he wanted to assure his presidency and then go into war. After he became president Wilson knew that war was unavoidable, especially after Germany kept attacking America. It was time to go to war since Germany refused to stop attacking America.

Wilson's War Message
From reading Wilson's War Message in my opinion I feel that the speech
fits America's current situation. I feel that it fits America's current situation because many innocent lives were lost by torpedoes of German submarines. How could the German government shoot at innocent civilians? I believe Wilson was right for declaring war because we gave the Germans a few chances and they also made a promise which they did not honor( the Sussex Pledge). Property can be paid for; the lives of peaceful and innocent people cannot be. There is no price that can be paid for killing an innocent person. Think about the family who will get the letter or be told that somebody in there family was killed by Germans.

Wilson announced that his previous position of "armed neutrality" was no longer possible now that the Imperial German Government had declared that it would use its submarines to sink any vessel approaching the ports of Europe. The sinking of the Lusitania had brought the United States into the war. It’s population was scared, and did not know what to make of such a sudden attack. The fact that Woodrow Wilson had declared War, fit the country’s current situation. His main intentions were to make the world safe again for democracy, since Germany was stirring up unnecessary trouble for the whole world. ~FATIMA
In Woodrow Wilson's speech he talks about how America should go into to war against Germany. Right now in America its the same situation. Germany was killing innocent people and causing more trouble than necessary. Woodrow Wilson wanted to keep the peace and make America more safe. Germany didn't keep up with there agreement so America had to go to war.

It is hypocrite to do that. It is destined for people to die in War.

I think that Woodrow Wilson took the right decision. In his speech he describes how the Germans became more aggressive. So he had to go into the war against Germany because they were attacking ships without realize that they were killing hundreds of innocent americans on board.

Woodrow Wilson’s speech fits the American public because the German submarine warfare is inhumane. Women, children and men that are non-military status have been killed by the U-boats (about 20 German boats). The German government has made a promise it would not sink any allied ships and if they will a warning will be issued. Soon after that promise they sunk a ship without any warnings. But not just American ships were sunk also allied ships. We must choose a side that is right for the America people and it is to fight with the allied powers.
In my opinion, Woodrow Wilson's speech fit the current situation in America. The German U-boats have taken unthoughtful action causing harm to innocent people. "American ships have been sunk, American lives taken".For example, Before the sinking of the Lusitania, President Wilson did not go straight to war, but talked to Germany and word things out, but since the German could not keep their word by sinking the Lusitania. We had to go to war to protect more american people from being harmed.

In the first paragraph Woodrow Wilson is right by saying that congress is the ones that have to make the choices of policy. I think he was right in saying this because no one man should have power over the hole country it would be as he say constitutionally. this has to do with today because any law that want to be passed has to go thur congress before it can really be made into a law, or even be done in the country. even tho Wilsons was just putting into law atleast he went though congress first.

When Wilson says-"The present German submarine warfare against commerce is a warfare against mankind." I think it's only focusing on one side and giving it more importance. Undoubtedly commerce is essential for the economy of the country and its people but he should have though what about the lives that would be lost. Between their governments they could have settle an agreement or treaty. Woodrow says to mankind aren't Germans part of mankind? Then it kind of works both ways.

Wilson's War Message to Congress fits America's current situation. In his message, he proclaims, "I am not now thinking of the loss of property involved, immense and serious as that is, but only of the wanton and wholesale destruction of the lives of non-combatants, men, women, and children, engaged in pursuits which have always, even in the darkest periods of modern history, been deemed innocent and legitimate. Property can be paid for; the lives of peaceful and innocent people cannot be." It is clear that we can no longer be neutral and trying to live in peace when danger and destruction is coming the country's way and is all around. It is impossible to just let innocent lives continue to be taken. Action must be done immediately. If not, we may continue to lose lives. Entering the war is the only way we can not only save lives, but save our counrty as a whole .

In Wilsons speech in the speech he mentions how American ships and lives were taken. With these as his basis he presents a war message of the need of defense on the American land and that we need to protect ourselves by declaring war.
